Register to vote

The deadline to register to vote for the UK Parliamentary Election which is being held on 8 June 2017 has now passed. You can still register online for future elections, but you will not be able to vote in the election on 8 June. Alternatively, you could ask for an application form to be sent to you by contacting Electoral Services on 0118 937 3717 or elections@reading.gov.uk.

Poll cards

Poll cards have been sent out to all eligible electors and the next batch of poll cards for recently registered electors will be despatched on 31 May 2017.

You don't need your poll card to vote.

If you don't have your poll card, you can go to the polling station and give them your name and address. You don't need any other form of ID.

If you haven't received a polling card but think you should have, please contact us to check your registration on 0118 937 3717 or elections@reading.gov.uk.

Postal votes

The deadline for new postal vote applications and changes to existing postal votes has now passed. Postal votes were sent out on 19 May and a second batch is being sent on or around 30 May 2017.

Proxy votes

Voting by proxy means getting someone to vote on your behalf, for example because you'll be on holiday, working, or living/serving overseas on election day. You'll need to complete and return your proxy application by 5pm on 31 May 2017. Forms can be requested by contacting Electoral Services on 0118 937 3717 or elections@reading.gov.uk. Alternatively you can download the form from Your Vote Matters website.

Polling stations

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.
