Trading Standards

The Trading Standards Service aims to protect consumers against illegal trading practices, and works to promote fair trading to help reputable businesses. It will investigate enquiries and complaints about the quality, quantity or safety of goods and services provided to consumers and businesses. A range of services are on offer including:

• stopping unsafe or substandard goods reaching the shop floor
• protecting consumers from false or misleading information about prices and credit
• protecting honest businesses from unfair competition
