Credit Debts are debts where the creditor does not have extra powers (for example - they can't take action to re-possess your home) so these debts are less imprtant than your priority debts (see Priority Debts in Related information).
The most common credit debts include:
- credit card debts
- personal loans with finance companies
- bank and building society loans and overdrafts
- store cards
- catalogues
- personal debts to friends and family
- doorstep-collected loans
- credit sale agreements
- trading cheques or vouchers
You may be tempted to treat these debts as a priority because your creditors are actively chasing you - either directly or through a debt collection agency.
Don’t let you creditors pressure you into making arrangements
