Advice for Landlords

The Housing Advice Service offers a comprehensive advice service to landlords and those thinking of becoming landlords. We cover areas such as:

  • Your rights and responsibilities as a landlord
  • Finding tenants for your property
  • Setting up and ending tenancies
  • Managing your property on a day-to-day basis
  • Resolving disputes
  • Dealing with difficult tenants

Standards for Properties
Your property becomes someone else's home while they rent it.  By law, your property must meet certain standards. If work is needed to bring your property up to standard you may be entitled to a grant from the Council. We can refer you to the people who can give advice on these grants and on the standards that are required.

For simple enquiries you can contact the Housing Advice Service on-line.
