The Blitz: Britain and the Luftwaffe, 1939-45 - 19 March

Battle Library

7pm

Many are familiar with the operations which led to the Battle of Britain in 1940, but perhaps don't realise that 'The Blitz' lasted throughout the entire war to some greater or lesser extent. Historian Richard Marks will look at the operations mounted by Germany against the British Isles during world war two including the Beidecker and Steinbok raids as well as operational use of the V-1 Cruise Missile and the V-2 Ballistic Missile. Richard will also tell the story of how the 'Blitz' affected Reading and the surrounding area and will look at some of the commonly held myths which surround these raids.

Tickets available at Central and Battle Libraries, £4 (£3 to library members)

Please note that we do not book tickets in advance of payment. Tickets can only be purchased online or in person. All tickets sold on the day of the event will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
