Planning History Searches

For the various occasions that you would require a search on a properties planning history there are basically 5 ways that this can be achieved.

  1. In person by visiting the Reading Borough Council, Civic Centre, Reading RG1 7AE.
The office is open between 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
  2. By phone by dialing 0800 626 540 or 0118 939 0900. The office is open between 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
  3. By letter addressing it to Reading Borough Council, The Planning Department, Level 8, Civic Centre, Reading RG1 7TD.
  4. By Email via the Contact Us link
  5. By fax using the fax number: 0118 939 0435.

We will normally respond to all enquiries within 5 working days. However planning history searches can be quite time consuming especially with older applications (pr 1990) that are not stored electronically. These older applications are contained in either history cards or microfilm and are located in our Planning and Building Control Reception on the ground floor. We therefore recommend that if you have a large number of searches to do or require an extensive amount of information that you visit the office in person.
