Article 4 Directions

The Council wants to conserve key locally distinctive buildings that contribute to the sense of place in Reading. One way of doing this is to issue an Article 4 direction, which removes some of the normal development rights that are available to property owners, with the intention of conserving the significant aspects of the buildings' appearance.

There are fifteen Article 4 directions in Reading.
