Children’s Action Teams (CATs) in Reading have been set up to improve both the quality and speed of our response in meeting the additional needs of children and young people. We have set up four multi-agency teams providing earlier intervention and preventative services to children, young people and parents in the area they live or go to school.

This team of people will work closely with schools and other services to help and support children and young people with their additional needs. These will include single or multiple needs arising from education, health, social care and other areas of their lives. CAT members will work to provide holistic child/young person-centred support to improve outcomes and the quality of life for children and their families. They will achieve this using the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and Lead Professional Role and team around the child approach. They will also provide group work support like parenting courses.

For more information about the role, make-up, background and location of CATs, as well as how to contact them, please see the links at the bottom of this page.
