Community Development Services

Our work links to the Thriving Neighbourhoods programme. The Thriving Neighbourhoods Programme is a pilot by the Council to join-up services and target resources to more effectively meet the needs of those in some of Reading’s most deprived localities. Crucially it is based on better communication and engagement of local people through community development activity - and because we can’t be everywhere it has to be focused!

Community Development

We have local bases in community centres and libraries so that we can be at the heart of the community. This allows us to be accessible to anyone that wants to drop in for anything from finding out what’s happening locally to picking up an information leaflet or maybe getting advice on an issue of local concern. Maybe you have a good idea for a local community project but are unsure of how to put your ideas into action? We can help by talking through your ideas and signposting you to services and other organisations or groups that can help.
