Where in North Reading

We are working with local people and service providers to bring about improvements to the local community in the Amersham Road area.

Things we are working on

  • You and Your Community - keeping local people informed about what we’re doing and encouraging them to get involved
  • Children & Young People - supporting the Children’s Centre, Extended Schools and Youth & Community Centre in providing services for children and young
  • Money & Work - joint work to improve access to advice and information and to encourage local people to learn about money matters
  • Making Things Safer - encouraging local people to support and get involved with the issues facing local police and crime prevention groups
  • A Better Place to Live - working with services, like Reading Buses to improve access and environmental services to reduce litter and encourage recycling.
  • Being Healthy - joint working to develop healthy eating and physical activity sessions, including walking initiatives

Working with Local People

Listening to you
The results of the neighborhood survey completed by local people has helped plan activity that aims to make the lives of those living on the estate even better. The team is always keen to work with local people to find out what those living in the area want improved or changed, so please get in touch.

Join a Community Group
The teams meet with local service providers every 2 months and local people are encouraged to get involved, there are also a number of community groups that local people run which support local change and people are welcome to join. If you are interested in joining a group already set up or starting your own community group please call your local team who can help get you started.
