Working Better With You - We Need To Talk Consultations

Difficult times, big questions...

Reading is a great place to live, with a local economy which is well-placed to ride out the current economic downturn. We’ve also got improving local schools, high-quality public transport; well-used parks and open spaces; a great football team and a town centre which attracts people from miles around.

It’s the people of Reading who make the town so successful. We want to keep it that way.

The Council believes that our services can work better and be more responsive if the people of Reading have a greater say in how they are run.

This has never been more important as public spending is reduced and the Council is facing difficult budget decisions to make in the coming years.

In July we launched our "Working Better with You" programme, the start of an ongoing process to give residents a range of opportunities to have their say and to encourage people to get involved in new ways of working with you.

Over the summer we carried out surveys by post and on line and met with residents all over the borough in series of Let’s Talk events.

You can find a summary of the feeback we received by downloading our "You've Talked, We're Listening feedback handbook.

Working better with you is an on-going programme. If you are interested in getting involved and finding new ways of working with the Council, please use the online registration form and let us know what type of thing you are interested in.
