Schools Forum

The Schools Forum is a body, largely comprising representatives from schools, which must be consulted by Reading Borough Council before any changes can be made to the local funding formula for the distribution of funds to schools.

Reading Borough Council also consults Schools Forum on other financial matters that affect schools. In recent years central government has given Schools’ Forums decision-making powers over some technical elements related to the funding of schools at the local level, although final decisions regarding changes to the funding formula rest with Reading Borough Council.
