What to expect from our After School Clubs

All our After School Clubs strive to create a happy and enjoyable atmosphere. We want everyone to feel welcome and every child treated as an individual, to feel supported and respected. We encourage and appreciate children's and parent's ideas, suggestions or thoughts and have various ways for these to be expressed.

Each team consists of experienced and qualified staff that meet the national standards for childcare. Qualifications include NVQ's in play work and/or childcare, food hygiene, safeguarding and Paediatric first aid.

Our dedicated teams hold site meetings on a weekly basis to plan the upcoming week's sessions; including what main activities and games are to be set up to support the children's learning, development and play as well as planning a well balanced meal to be cooked everyday for the children attending.

Although the children of course may choose their own activities, the sessions are set up to support learning needs and engage children mentally and physically. For example, a club may work on healthy lifestyle or an upcoming cultures festival as a topic and participate in activities and discussions to support the topic.

The clubs have a wide range of resources available to meet the child's play needs. Typical options for the children to participate in include:

Imaginative and creative play such as;
            • modelling
            • sculpting
            • dressing up
            • play food
            • music and dance

Sports and active play such as;
            • football
            • badminton
            • cricket
            • group games
            • air hockey tables

Arts and craft such as;
            • bead making
            • painting
            • collages
            • stickers

On occasions we also provide Nintendo WII's for the children to play with in groups such as the sports and dance games.

We hope this gives you an idea of what you and your child/ren can expect from us. Please feel free to contact  your chosen After School Club directly to find out more information about their activities, contact numbers can be found above.
