Food safety star rating is an initiative to publicise information relating to hygiene inspections of businesses that serve, prepare or sell food. Local authority officers carry out inspections of food businesses and the results of these inspections can be viewed on the website below. At the time of each inspection businesses are assessed for compliance with food safety controls, cleanliness, suitability of structure and equipment and the ability of the business to maintain good standards. Information on the Food Safety Scores link reflects the conditions found during the most recent inspection of Reading businesses. Click on "Food Safety Scores" in the Related Information section on the right of this text. It is possible that conditions have changed since the inspection was carried out. The information provided should not be taken as a recommendation or condemnation of the food business. The information provided does not relate to the taste or the decorative order of the premises unless this is likely to affect food safety.
