Licensing
Reading Borough Council has a statutory duty to enforce licensing throughout the Reading Borough Council area. The Licensing Section is responsible for giving advice on and issuing licences for a variety of situations covering the following areas:-
- Premises Licences
- Personal Licences
- Temporary Event Notices
- Gaming Machines
- Amusements With Prizes Machines
- Lotteries
- Sex Establishments
- Hackney Carriage Vehicles and Drivers
- Private Hire Vehicles and Drivers
- School Transport Vehicles and Drivers
- School Transport Operators
- Private Hire Operators
- Street Collections
- House to House Collections
- Scrap Metal Dealers
- Motor Vehicle Salvage Operators
- Street Trading & Pavement Cafés.
The Licensing Section deals with complaints regarding licensed and un-licensed premises/persons/vehicles & activities. Enforcement work is carried out to check compliance with licence conditions and to carry out investigations into unlicensed premises/persons/vehicles & activities.
