Street Pavement Cafe Licence
A street pavement café licence is required for consent under Section 115 of the 1980 Highways Act to place objects upon the highway. Therefore where a premises wishes to put tables and chairs outside their premises for the purposes of providing a outside seating area for customers the above consent is required and a licence must be applied for.
It is the responsibility of the licensee to obtain all other consents required in connection with the proposed extension of their business onto the highway including where appropriate, any amendment to their existing liquor licence.
When applying for a licence you must also display a notice on the premises advising members of the public that an application has been made.
