Street Trading Consent

Reading Borough Council issues Street Trading Consents.

All the street within the boundaries of Reading are consent streets. This means any person wishing to sell goods to the public must have been granted a Street Trading Consent before they start trading. This includes sites on private land within 50 metres of the public highway.

Most consents issued by Reading Borough Council are to trade to sell fast foods. However, consents have been issued for the sale of clothing, jewellery, flowers etc.

Street traders are required to find a location that they believe is suitable for the type of goods they wish to sell. To discuss the suitability of the location you wish to trade from and apply for the fee please contact us by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.
