Street and Environmental Cleansing

Reading's Street & Environmental Cleansing services are provided by the Streetcare Team. The range of services provided include: street cleansing, litter collection, emptying and provision of litter & dog waste bins, graffiti removal, grounds maintenance, and tree maintenance,. We work closely with the officers who enforce the waste laws on fly-tipping, and commercial and industrial waste management.

	Fly-tipping	Fly-tipping is the deliberate, unlawful deposit of waste in a place that is not licensed to receive it, often by the roadside or on private land
	Litter - Reporting Problems	Litter in our streets is a major environmental problem. The Council cleans streets regularly and encourages residents, firms and visitors not to drop litter in the streets.
	Hazardous Waste	Certain materials and chemicals can be hazardous to health or to the environment, the Council may be able to help you dispose of hazardous substances
	Reporting Spillages	Spillages of chemicals or other materials can pose a danger to people or the environment, and can be a danger to traffic
