The Reading Real Nappy Project – known as Ready Wraps – and initially funded by WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme) was launched in April 2005 at the Reading Borough Council Green Fair.
Ready Wraps aim is to encourage parents to switch from using disposable nappies to 'real' cotton washable nappies.
Real nappies are an easy-to-use, practical alternative to disposables. They are cheaper and reduce rubbish going to landfill, which is why more and more families are choosing them. It's official, real nappies are really cool!
What are Ready Wraps and Reading Borough Council doing?
- Cash back incentive for parents using real nappies - if you live in Reading Borough and give us a receipt for real nappies you have bought you can claim £30 back (please print and complete the downloadable form "Claim £30 cash back with Ready Wraps" which appears below)
- Regular Nappuchinos at The Biscuit Tin Cafe, Reading Town Hall 10am - 11.30am on the second Wednesday of every month
- Information pack with local events and retailers available on request or look on the website
- Working together with the Reading Real Nappy Network on promoting the use of real nappies
