Reading’s Children’s Trust children and Young People brings together members of local organisations that work with children, young people and their families. The Trust is responsible for all work with children and young people in Reading. By working in partnership, we are better able to provide the support and services required to enable all Reading’s children to achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of:

  • Being healthy
  • Staying safe
  • Enjoying and achieving
  • Making a positive contribution
  • Achieving economic wellbeing

The Children’s Trust Board has a Board which reports to the Local Strategic Partnership. It meets 6 times a year to ensure that we plan together and join up the services we provide to children, young people and families. The Board produces a plan each year called the the Children and Young people’s Plan (CYPP), which sets out the key priorities for the Trust and how it aims to achieve them.

Our current priorities are:

  • Enhance emotional wellbeing (Being healthy)
  • Deliver outstanding services for children in need and those needing protection (Staying safe)
  • Improve schools and raise attainment (Enjoying and achieving)
  • Promote positive parenting (Making a positive contribution)
  • Foster thriving neighbourhoods (Achieve economic wellbeing)

You can find further information about the Trust in the sections listed at the top left of this page. Further information about the vision and aims of the Trust can be found in Reading’s Children and Young People’s Plan which is available on the ’Reading Children’s Trust - Documents, Plans and Strategies’ link at the top right-hand side of this page.
