Direct Payments
People who qualify for support form Community Care Services or from the Disabled Children's Team can choose to have the money the council would normally spend on their support to make their own arrangements. This is called Direct Payments.
Carers of a dependent adult or disabled child may also qualify for Direct Payments to pay for breaks or activities that will help relieve the stress of caring.
Direct Payments offer greater choice and control over the care and support you receive to help you live your life the way you want.
PLEASE NOTE: This "Direct Payments Scheme" is different from the "Direct Payment" initiative promoted by the Department of Work and Pensions which is about paying state pensions and benefits straight into your bank account.
