Direct Payments
Adults who are assessed as needing support from Community Care Services and Carers looking after an adult or a severely disabled child can choose to have the money that the Council would normally spend on care and support services and use it to make their own care arrangements. This is called Direct Payments
Direct Payments gives you greater choice and control over the care and support you need to help you live your life the way you want.

PLEASE NOTE: This "Direct Payments Scheme" is different from the "Direct Payment" initiative promoted by the Department of Work and Pensions which is about paying state pensions and benefits straight into your bank account.
