Shared Lives
This service finds, assesses, supports, evaluates and trains carers who offer supported living to people in the carer’s own home. The placements offered vary from the service user living with and becoming part of the family, to service users living more independently, such as within a flat affiliated to the carer's home.
The service also provides daytime carer support to individuals as well as annual holidays.
The scheme has expanded dramatically over the last couple of years and now supports service users living within the Wokingham District Council area.
The service is registered as an Adult Placement Scheme under the Commission for Social Care Inspection and the last inspection was carried out in March 2007 where an ’Excellent’ was achieved.
