Hundreds of decisions are made every year that affect your houses and communities. You have the right to information about proposals and to be involved in decisions about how your money from rent and tax is spent on your area

The Council involves tenants and residents through:

  • local tenants and residents group
  • Reading wide groups
  • questionnaires, focus grops, telephone interviews
  • through RFTRA (the Reading Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations)

RFTRA Resource Centre, 5 Queens Walk, ReadingWhere possible tenants are given control over decision making for a particular area.

If you want to get involved in decisions about your home why not join the Sounding Board (please follow the link to the right of this page) - you can say what things you want to be involved in and how much you want to be involved.

The Tenant Participation Unit gives advice, support and assistance to ensure that local people can make their voices heard.  You can contact the Tenant Participation unit online by following the link at the top right of this page.  Alternatively you can drop into the RFTRA resource centre at 5, Queen's Walk, (between the Civic Centre and the Renaissance Hotel) (we are open on weekdays from 10am -1pm or 2pm and 4pm) or call us or by calling on 0118 939 0730 or 0118 939 0140
