Housing Needs

The Government’s key housing policy goal is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity of living in a decent home, which they can afford, in a community where they want to live.

The reports below were commissioned by Reading BC and partners to provide an up-to-date picture of housing need and demand. They look at various issues such as house prices, affordability and the drivers of the market including economic growth and demographic changes in Berkshire.

Disclaimer: The Council has not at this stage considered or approved any of the recommendations presented in the consultant reports above. Any recommendations will be considered in due course as part of the development of Reading Borough Council’s revised Housing Strategy.
