Leaseholder Advice

This is a general guide to the services provided by Reading Borough Council to:

  • leaseholders in a Reading Borough Council block of flats
  • anyone thinking of buying a flat from a leaseholder
  • Council Tenants thinking of buying the leasehold of their flat from the Council

This information:

  • explains your rights and responsibilities as a leaseholder, and the council's rights and responsibilities as the landlord of your block
  • gives help and advice about being a leaseholder in a shared block of flats, and tells you about the services you are entitled to
  • tells you about service charges, why you have them, and how we can help if you have problems paying them

If you would like further information please contact the Leasehold Officer on-line.
If you own a leasehold, please see the 'Advice for Non-Council Leaseholders' page at the bottom of the list.
