Residents Involvement Champion SE Region
Reading Borough Council's Tenant Participation Unit has been asked to lead on the development of a Residents Involvement Champion (RIC) network for south east region.
This project is being funded by Communities and Local Government Peer Support programme and has been made possible by the Improvement and Development Agency’s (IDeA’s) Strategic Housing programme.
The purpose of RIC is to provide a mechanism to support all housing organisations in improving the way we involve tenants and residents in decisions about their homes and neighbourhoods - the aim is to share skills and knowledge so we are able to help residents to be actively engaged in influencing operational and strategic housing outcomes within their communities
We hope to do this by:
- building a database of housing organisations in the region and identifying strengths/areas of expertise with residents involvement
- highlighting best practice
- providing a vehicle for organisations share experiences and ask for help when needed
- identifying common issues so we can work together to develop solutions
All housing organisations in the region are invited to join the network and help shape the way it develops - for more information please contact our Tenant Participation Unit
Come along to our launch and first networking conference on Friday 27 March 2009 at the Town Hall, Reading. Use the link in Related Information for more details and on-line booking
