Access Pedestrian access through Forbury Gardens, Abbey Street and the Kennet tow path. Tarmac pathways with a slight slope. 
Vehicular access parking in Abbots Walk. 
History Oscar Wilde was imprisoned in Reading Gaol. As a monument to him there are several works of art dedicated to his memory - a love seat and a set of gates at the entrance to Chestnut Walk. 

Originally this was the main wharf for Reading Abbey.
