Reading Youth Cabinet
Reading Youth Cabinet is made up of elected young people, aged 11-19, who represent all young people in Reading. The cabinet meets fortnightly at the Civic Offices in Reading.
The cabinet regularly meets with those who make decisions about Reading, such as councillors, MPs and council workers, and engage in conversation about what is important for the young people of Reading, and ensure that these views are taken into account.
The cabinet also has its own campaigns. The main campaigns for this year are: improving transport for young people, ensuring young people are physically and emotionally safe and an environment project. The Youth Cabinet also supports increased re-cycling, and a reduction in the voting age to 16; as it has done in past years.
Reading's Member of Youth Parliament (MYP), Josh Harsant, who represents the young people of Reading on the national UK Youth Parliament, is also a member of the Youth Cabinet, along with his deputy (DMYP) Faye Gobbi.
