North Area Access Study
The results of the NAAS consultation, held in April 2005 has been published and its findings and recommendation have been endorsed by Cabinet. The views of the 1138 people who responded to the consultation have been considered as part of the evaluation process and as a result some draft proposals have been removed from the study and some new proposals added.
The recommendations, contained in the Cabinet report, for the next phase of the study reflect the 3 top priorities which emerge from the consultation:
Reducing congestion and delays (71%)
Better Public transport (53%)
Improved Safety for pedestrians and cyclists (50%)
The proposal have also been analysed by Officers and grouped into deliverable, short, medium and long term packages. These packages of measures will be progressed as part of Reading's ongoing Horizons transport strategy, and work to develop them will begin immediately.
