Friar Street will be closed between Greyfriars Road and Station Road next week for emergency works to repair road surfaces severely damaged by wet weather, snow and ice.
Works begin at 8am on Monday and could take up to five days to complete.
Buses are being temporarily diverted and bus stops moved while the essential work takes place.
You can find out where to catch your bus and where buses are being diverted by opening the attachments below.
In summary, routes running from west to east will be diverted via Caversham Road and Vastern Road and from east to west via Market Place, Minster Street and Gun Street.
Incoming Caversham buses on all Pink routes will enter the town centre at Vastern Bridge and terminate at stop EF in Station Road. Incoming Red 9 and Claret buses will run from London Road via Queens Road and Forbury Road direct into Blagrave Street.
For more information bus passengers should go to their relevant bus operator’s website, including www.reading-buses.co.uk
The Council is in direct contact with all of the businesses that will also be affected, including in relation to their delivery arrangements. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
