Recycle Your Christmas Tree

There is still time to take your Christmas Tree to one of Reading’s Christmas tree recycling sites. The trees will then be chipped by the Council and will be used in a variety of landscaping schemes across the Borough.

The sites will be open until 24th January. They are in the car parks of the following locations, near to the recycling facilities:

· Mapledurham Playing Fields

· Clayfield Copse car park

· Hills Meadow car park

· Rivermead Leisure Complex (next to recycling area)

· Kensington Road Recreation Ground

· Prospect Park Main Car Park

· Meadway Recreation Ground

· Tilehurst Allotments, Armour Hill

· Palmer Park Sports Stadium Car Park

· Whitley Wood Recreation Ground Car Park

· Academy Sports Leisure Centre, Northumberland Avenue

Please remember to remove all decorations from your tree.

It’s quite normal to see piles of trees at your local recycling site. Don’t worry, they will be collected – it just takes us a few days to get round to each location!

Real christmas trees can also be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Island Road (off the A33 Relief Road) or can be chopped up and put in green garden waste bags or bins.
