Visitors to our websites

When someone visits our website (www.reading.gov.uk) we collect standard internet log information and details such as the number of visitors to different parts of our website. This information cannot be used to identify you personally. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information on the website, we will tell you. Use of Cookies

memberInfo On every page. Assists identification for Forms-Master (online forms system)
ASP.NET_SessionID On almost every page. Stores 404 information so that page not found errors can be handled cleanly and also perform retro-redirects for old bookmarked urls.
.ASPXAUTH.ModuleServices.Member When logging in or after registering. Required to know who is logged in.
Member.RecentPages When user visits most pages. Used by MyReading so that we can list recently visited pages.
Member.Bookmarks When user interacts with a content page by clicking the ‘Save This Page’ button. Used by MyReading so that we can list user bookmarks.
Member.Address.* When visiting the MyReading page. Stores the address the user sets on the MyReading page so that we can provide location services.
Member.MyReading.* When visiting the MyReading page. Stores state information about the widgets such as location, info tip visibility and whether the widget is showing.
Login.Return When a user chooses to login whilst on a petitions page. So that the user is redirected back to petitions after logging in.
ASPSESSIONID* (mapping.reading..) When a GIS map is displayed. Set by 3rd party system.
Accessibility When user chooses an accessibility option. Used to determine which style to show based on the user’s choice.
Planning and Building Control http://planninghome.reading.gov.uk/ This site uses session cookies If a user adjusts their browser settings to restrict the use of cookies, the functionality of the products is unaffected.
Parking fine payments https://parking.reading.gov.uk/ This site uses session cookies Stores the current ticket number during the ticket payment process. The cookie can only be sent to this site, not others, and has a short life, so cannot be used subsequently to derive any information about the user or PC.
Online Benefit Claim and Calculator https://becs.reading.gov.uk/ This site uses session cookies BECS uses one cookie to hold the JSESSIONID used by Tomcat to identify the user's session
