Food Safety Course

The council runs in-house the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Level 2 award in food safety in catering course. This is a one day course that covers all major aspects of food hygiene and is suitable for all food handlers who are responsible for providing safe, clean food. On completion of a short multiple choice test, a certificate will be awarded to successful delegates.

The council also runs the CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering refresher course. All candidates who have taken the CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety catering course are recommended to take a refresher course three years after completion. The courses are held at the Civic Centre, Reading. The morning course starts promptly at 8.15 am and finishes at 12.15 pm and the afternoon course starts promptly at 1 pm and finishes at 5 pm, this includes multiple choice assessment time.
