Common Assessment Framework - CAF

The CAF is a standardised approach to conducting an assessment of a child or young person presenting with additional needs and agreeing how those needs can best be met.

Reading's CAF process changed on 1 April 2011 and now uses eCAF. eCAF is the e-enablement of the Common Assessment Framework. It is software where authorised and trained practitioners can securely check whether a child already has a CAF and can access the most up to date version that they are working on.

Since the launch of eCAF, the only way to access a CAF is through eCAF.
