If your current home no longer meets your needs - this could be because it is too small for your growing family, or you need to move to a different area - you can consider:

applying to the Homechoice Register to transfer to another Reading Borough Council or local housing association home
swapping your home with another Council or housing association tenant (this could be anywhere in the country)
buying a home on the open market
moving into private rented accommodation

If you are living in a property which is now larger than you need (this could be because your children have grown up and left home) we may be able to offer paractical support plus financial assistance to help you move to a smaller home through our Under Occupiers Incentive Scheme.
