Homechoice Online Bidding Instructions
Watch this video to find out how to use the Homechoice at Reading online bidding website:
Applicants must first log in to the website before they can bid:
- Go to http://www.reading.gov.uk/homechoice
- Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and date of birth into the relevent boxes, then select the Login button
The Homechoice at Reading website has a menu with the following options:
- Log In/Log Out
- You must log out of the system when you are finished
- Member Home
- When you log in to the Homechoice at Reading website you will arrive at the Member Home Page. This displays some basic details on your assessment, and tells you if bidding is currently open. There is also a comments box that you can use to contact Homechoice at Reading
- Bidding
- The bidding page is broken into two sections. The first gives details of properties you have already bid on in the current bidding cycle. To cancel a bid, select the 'Cancel Bid' link.
- The second section gives details of all the other properties you can still bid on. To see more information on a property, select the 'View Advert' link next to each property. This will take you to the Viewing Advert page. You can also bid directly from this page without viewing the property advert, by selecting the 'Bid' link.
- The property advert page has alot of information about the property, including property address, rent, no. of bedrooms, whether pets are allowed, and much more. To bid on the property, select on the 'Bid on this property link'.
- Order Coupons
- Select the 'Order more coupons' button to order more coupons
- Assessment
- The Housing Assessment page shows the information held on the system for your assessment. If you want to find out more about how your Housing Priority Band is set, select the 'Housing Priority Bands Explained' link
- Feedback Report
- The Feedback page shows information about all the bids you have made to date. It includes how many eligible bids were received for each property, your rank on the shortlist, The band of the applicant who was offered or let the property, and the date the property was offered or let. There won't be any details for properties that are still open for bidding
