Active Parks

The Active Parks Project is an initiative based at Prospect Park delivered by Reading Borough Council’s Park & Sport Reading Teams. The aim of the project is to develop a sustainable program of sport and physical activity sessions for all residents living in West Reading. The project is supported and funded by Sport England.

Regular Activities

Active Parks deliver a wide variety of regular weekly activites at Prospect Park, including:

• Community Football
• Jogging
• Walking
• Rounders
• Buggy Fit
• Tai Chi
• Yoga
• Lacrosse
• Senior 5 a-side Leagues

Events and Festivals

Active Parks also deliver various events and festivals at Prospect Park throughought year, including the British Heart Foundation’s Annual Santa Jog , which attracts over 500 people, the Active Parks Bonanza and Play Day Bonanza, the Cancer Research Race For Life, and an 11 a-side Football Tournament.
