Street and Environmental Cleansing

The Streetcare Team provide a range of services across Reading to keep our town safe and clean. We are responsible for street cleansing, litter collection, litter and dog waste bins and graffiti removal.

We also work closely with the officers who enforce the waste laws on fly-tipping commercial and industrial waste management.

Dead Animals - Reporting The Council will collect dead animals from streets and estate areas within Reading
Fly-tipping Fly-tipping is the deliberate, unlawful deposit of waste in a place that is not licensed to receive it, often by the roadside or on private land
Graffiti Removal We now offer a free graffiti removal service for most tags on residential properties. We will aim to remove offensive and racist graffiti within one working day
Hazardous Waste Certain materials and chemicals can be hazardous to health or to the environment, the Council may be able to help you dispose of hazardous substances
Litter - Reporting Problems Litter in our streets is a major environmental problem. The Council cleans streets regularly and encourages residents, firms and visitors not to drop litter in the streets.
Reporting Spillages Spillages of chemicals or other materials can pose a danger to people or the environment, and can be a danger to traffic
