Reading Borough Council Voluntary Sector Support Unit gives support and advice to Voluntary & Community Sector groups and organisations working within the Reading Borough area. Our main role is to run the Council’s grants decision-making process.
The Council provides the following forms of grant aid in 2012-13: small community grants – capital grants – and core funding grants. Please open the relevant articles below for full details of each type of grant. We also manage a community hall in Reading, Bridge Hall on the Oxford Road, and provide access to information about local halls and community venues available for hire - see Community Halls and Accommodation article below. Reading Voluntary Action (RVA) is funded by Reading Borough Council to provide advice, information, infrastructure, support, training & fundraising advice to local Voluntary & Community Sector groups and organisations. For further information about the thriving community life of Reading, check out the External Link to the RVA Website below.
