Flexible Funding Opportunities
The following forms of grant-aid are available to local VCS organisations and groups in the 2013-14 financial year
Small Community Grants - total fund available £20,000
Available to support grassroots work and designed primarily to fund start-up costs, small projects and events that encourage activity at neighbourhood level.
- General Community Grants - up to £500 for start-up costs or projects by VCS groups relating to the priority areas
- Community Event Participation Grants - up to £200 to enable VCS groups to participate in a neighbourhood festival, or environmental event, or a local event that celebrates diversity
- Community Event Infrastructure Grants - up to £1,000 for a group which is responsible for coordinating and organising multiple activities from a number of other groups for a significant neighbourhood festival, or an environmental event, or a town-wide festival that celebrates diversity. These applications will only be accepted by prior agreement with the VSSU and are for large-scale community based events.
Note:
None of these Reading Borough Council grants are available to individuals, groups that make a profit, or statutory agencies.
Further exclusions may apply to particular types of community/capital grant-aid.

Your organisation's completed Application Form with ALL supporting documentation must be received at Reading Borough Council Civic Office no later than midday on:
14 June 2013 - Reading Pride, General Community Grants , Green Grants
2 August 2013 - Black History Month, General Community Grants, Green Grants
31 October 2013 - Holocaust Memorial Day, General Community Grants, Green Grants
31 January 2014 - Asian Arts, Caversham Festival, Children’s Festival, East Reading Festival, Oxford Road Fun Day, Reading Carnival, Waterfest, General Community Grants, Green Grants
