Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support

If you are on a low income you may be able to claim Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Support to help pay for your rent and Council Tax bills.

These scemes are administered by the Council. We aim to:

• provide a speedy and accurate service and make it easy for you to enquire about Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.
• make a decision on new claims within an average of 22 days when you make a new claim. When you tell us about changes that affect your benefit
• make changes to your Housing Benefit /Council Tax Support within 8 days of you telling us about changes to your circumstances which may affect your claim.
