Reading Sports Aid Fund 

Reading Sports Aid Fund is an independent body that makes small financial grants to promising sportspeople of any age or level of competition. You can apply for help with competition and training costs, or for a grant towards specific equipment. To be eligible for a grant you must live in the Borough of Reading.

Sport Reading Futures Programme

Sport Reading Futures Programme is a scheme that aims to help and support sportspeople competing at a national level, by providing free access to training facilities at Rivermead Leisure Complex, Meadway Sports Centre, Palmer Park Sports Stadium, Central Swimming Pool, Academy Sport and Ibis Rivers Club.

Reading Sports Aid Fund administer the scheme in partnership with RSL, Greenwich Leisure, Academy Sport, Prudential Rivers Ibis Club and Reading Borough Council.

To be eligible for the scheme applicants must be:

  • A current national sportsperson from any Sport England recognised sport (national is deemed as either a member of a national team/squad, or ranked in the top ten overall in the country of an individual sport or discipline - including junior age groups e.g. under-21, under-18)
  • A resident of Reading Borough for the majority of the year, or a member of a Reading-based sports club or attending a Reading school.
