How to Log In to your Self Account with Your New My Reading Account

We’ve made it easier for you to access services on self.reading.gov.uk by introducing Single Sign-On (SSO) via My Reading Account. Follow these simple steps to link your accounts and enjoy seamless access.
Step 1: Go to self.reading.gov.uk
- Visit the self.reading.gov.uk website as you normally would.
Step 2: Choose “Login or Register via My Reading Account”
- On the self.reading.gov.uk homepage, click the “Login or Register via My Reading Account” button.
- You’ll be redirected to the Arcus My Reading Account login page.
Step 3: Login or Register
- Existing My Reading Account users: Enter your credentials and log in.
- New users: Follow the registration steps to create a My Reading Account.
Step 4: Return to self.reading.gov.uk
- After successfully logging into your My Reading Account, navigate back to self.reading.gov.uk
- You should now be logged in automatically with your new Single Sign-On credentials.
Troubleshooting Your First Login
During this first-time setup, a one-time “handshaking” process links your accounts. If you find you’re not logged in when you return to self.reading.gov.uk:
- Click “Login” on self.reading.gov.uk: Use the same “Login or Register via My Reading Account” option to re-establish the connection.
- Your credentials will now work seamlessly: Once linked, you won’t need to repeat this process again.
