Update on flooding in Reading - 27 September
27 September - 11am:
Heavy rainfall across the South East in recent days is causing significant widespread flooding of roads and gardens in Reading.
The Council is deploying all its available drainage resources to respond to the incident and will be visiting reported flooded roads to check and clear gullies.
There is still a lot of standing water on the roads. Never drive through flood water, and take care if walking near towpaths.

Check for weather warnings on the Met Office website.
26 September:
There is a Yellow Weather Warning in place affecting Reading this weekend, from 6am, Thursday 26 to 9am, Friday 27 September, with heavy showers and thunderstorms developing across the south.
During this time, residents are urged to be weather aware and take care when travelling.
While there are currently no river flood warnings in place in Reading, the heavy downpours could bring some localised flooding, particularly on roads where the drainage system may become overloaded, with disruption to travel a possibility if this occurs.
Please be cautious near towpaths and avoid flooded areas. Do not walk or drive through floodwater.
