Street trading consents

Reading Borough Council is now taking expressions of interest in respect of 2 x new street trading pitches in Reading town centre. The first site is located on north side of Reading Railway Station, Vastern Road and the second site is located in Bridge Street at the side of the Civic offices as identified on the attached plans. (Current town centre fee is £6,129 PA). Please note there are no external power or water supplies at either site at this time.

Site one: Scope for a quality mobile motor vehicle (van) or quality mobile trailer unit  offering hot/cold food and drink or other items which should complement the attractions and amenities in the area, possibly with a small seating area that must be removed along with the unit from site each evening. Times to be agreed but within the parameters of 06:00 - 23:00hrs, minimum 5 days per week.

Site two: Scope for a smaller quality mobile motor vehicle (van) selling  hot/cold food products, drinks and similar products that must be removed from the site each evening. Times to be agreed but within the parameters of 17:00 - 23.00hrs,  minimum 5 days per week.
(Possibility to trade until midnight, subject to applicant being granted a premises licence for late night refreshment).

Expressions of interest must contain details of the unit (vehicle/trailer) including dimensions and a colour photograph with full details of proposed products/merchandise for sale (No fee required at this stage). 

The closing date for expressions of interest will be Thursday 31 October 2019 at 12:00hrs (midday). Any expressions of interest received after midday on Thursday 31 October 2019 will not be considered.

(Successful applicants will be expected to commence trading within an agreed time frame)
