Sun Street Youth and Community Centre is the main hub for East Reading's children's services. It hosts the majority of the support for families with under 5's and provides a range of services to the local area.

The centre is a single storey building which comprises of large hall, lounge area, IT room, art room and kitchen. All can be hired for regular groups/events and private parties.

How to find us

Sun Street Centre is situation in East Reading just off Cemetery Junction and is easily accessible from the centre of Reading (approximately 10  minutes by bus). The nearest bus routes are: Number 13, 14 & 17 which provide a regular service throughout the day. The Number 17 offers a 24/7 service. The bus stop you need to use is called Cemetery Junction.

Please note: if you choose to travel by car, there is very limited parking available at the centre due to its location, therefore we advise travelling by bus or getting a taxi.

Supporting information

Some events may need you to send in extra information. Please see the list below:

  • Evidence of Public Liability Insurance at a minimum indemnity of £5million
  • A copy of your safeguarding policy if you are running activities for people under 19
  • A food hygiene certificate if you plan to serve food to the public
  • If you are planning to sell alcohol at your event, you need to obtain a Temporary Events Notice
  • A copy of your adults safeguarding policy if you are running sessions which may have vulnerable adults attending
