Resurfacing project – temporary road closures

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads. The effect of which is to bring into operation the following closures, restrictions and suspensions:

1. The entire length of roads as detailed in Schedule 1 will be closed to all traffic as and when required and during the operation of the road closures all parking restrictions will be suspended and a temporary NWAAT parking restriction will be in place.
2. During the operation of the road closures the restrictions as detailed in Schedule 2 shall be suspended.

The Order will commence on 20th September 2021 and only during such times and to such extent from time to time indicated by traffic signs placed on site and as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

The Order is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out and will remain in force until the works are completed but for no longer than 18 months.
