The Race at Work Charter

As signatories of The Race at Work Charter we have made a public commitment to improving outcomes of BAME employees in the workplace. The charter consists of five principles to ensure organisations address the barriers to BAME recruitment and progression.

Reading LGBT+ Network

Reading Borough Council has a LGBT+ Network for colleagues to discuss LGBT+ issues within and outside of the council. It is designed to support individuals of the LGBT+ community to feel that they can be who they are at work. The network is open to all staff, including allies. Meetings are held at the end of every month with frequent social events organised through the network. 

Cultural Unity, Diversity and Inclusion Network

Our newly formed Cultural Unity, Diversity and Inclusion Network has been set up to promote a positive culture in which everyone is welcome and valued at Reading Borough Council. We will do this through representation, support, advice and increasing understanding through education and awareness events.
