Technology Enabled Care (TEC) and falls prevention

Technology Enabled Care (TEC) can be used to support people who may be at risk of falls with devices like:

  • fall detectors
  • personal alarms
  • medication reminders
  • wellbeing and monitoring devices that alert family members, neighbours or local support services, for examples drinking cups that prompt you to drink or alert a carer if you are not drinking enough

TEC can be used to support people who may be at risk of falls, to support those  living with long-term conditions to remain as independent as possible , or for those who simply want reassurance day-to-day , giving people greater confidence to manage their health and wellbeing.

This means quicker access to help, more independence, and peace of mind for both individuals and families. TEC plays an important role in prevention and early support, helping people remain active, engaged, and safer at home for longer.
