King’s Road bus lane use – RBC private hire vehicles
RBC private hire vehicles are permitted to use the King’s Road bus lanes if the following applies.
- The vehicle has a valid licence covering when the bus lane is being used.
- The journey is to fulfil a private hire booking or school transport contract.
The bus lane cannot be used for personal journeys or returning back from completing a booking/school contract. You may be asked to produce a valid vehicle licence and proof of a booking/school contract if required by the Bus Lane Enforcement Team.
If you receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for using a bus lane and you wish to contest it, you must follow the process on the PCN, the licensing team cannot intervene on your behalf.
If you receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for using a bus lane inappropriately, you will need to pay the charge.
